Myopia Control

Correct your child's vision and help slow it down from getting worse.

Welcome to your first steps in taking control of your child's worsening vision!

A significant amount of myopia (aka nearsightedness) begins to occur as soon as 5 years old. With advancements in eye care, there are safer and more effective methods of controlling the progression of myopia, especially for children. By addressing myopia early with the right program, we can reduce the risk of developing high levels of myopia, which are associated with increased risks of eye diseases such as retinal detachment, glaucoma, and macular degeneration later in life.

We have several options to reduce your child's risk of myopia-related eye health issues while giving them the ability see clearly and freely.

Why choose Myopia Control over standard glasses or contact lenses?

01

Preserve Your Child's Vision

Myopia Control isn't just about making vision more clear today; it's about safeguarding your eyesight for the future. By slowing down the progression of myopia, you can reduce the risk of developing sight-threatening conditions later in life.

02

Freedom from Stronger Prescriptions

With Myopia Control, we aim to stabilize vision during a time in your child's life where they're growing a ton. That means potentially fewer prescription changes and a wave good-bye to thicker glasses!

03

Empower Their Future

We regularly see the most amount of vision change occur between the ages of 6-12 years of age. We want to make sure children are able to see clearly at all times, especially in the classroom! With timely intervention, we can give children the ability to see clearly and give them the confidence and self-esteem to be everything they can.

With the unique MiSight contact lenses, we can manipulate how light is focused in the eye. Unlike traditional contact lenses, MiSight 1 Day Contacts have multiple focusing zones that allow for clear vision at all distances while providing a very effective stimulus for slowing eye growth - and slowed eye growth equals slow vision change!

The First and ONLY FDA-approved product proven to slow myopia progression in children, age 8-12 at the initiation of treatment.

Children as young as 8 years old can confidently apply and remove MiSight 1 Day lenses on their own.

On average, age-appropriate children wearing MiSight 1 Day lenses progressed less than -1.00D over 6 years.

Children wearing MiSight 1 Day lenses achieved better than 20/20 vision across all visits over a 6-year period.

Ortho-K

(Orthokeratology)

Ortho-K is a non-surgical contact lens option that gives wearers the freedom to see clearly without the daytime use of contacts or glasses. By simply wearing these lenses overnight, the eye will gently mold to the shape of the contact lens so that by morning, the wearer can take off their lenses and have worry-free vision!

1. Put the overnight contacts on before sleeping

2. Take them off when you wake up

3. That's it! You're ready to see clearly without the need of glasses or contacts

Once the majority of eye growth has happened, we cannot put it in reverse. With regularly scheduled eye exams, we can catch the change at it's onset and keep your child's prescription as low as possible.

Atropine Eye Drops

Low-dose atropine eye drops have excellent results in slowing myopia progression, offering a treatment option for kids who may be too sensitive to contact lenses or for kids who really enjoy their glasses.

With this program, you simply instill one drop into your child's eyes at night, every night.

That's it!

Atropine eye drops work by mildly dilating the eyes and reducing the eyes' ability to focus.

By reducing the eye's ability to focus, we effectively reduce the stimulus for myopia progression from excessive near work activities such as reading or using digital devices.

Whichever treatment you consider, your child will be in great hands with our professionally-trained and licensed Optometrists.
